What Tech Ventures Offers Industry
Tech Ventures provides industry a "one-stop shop" by negotiating industry-sponsored research agreements for faculty research programs, and any subsequent license of technology that is created during the research period. Tech Ventures emphasizes the importance of developing a good working relationship between the company collaborator and the University, and has a flexible approach to deal-term negotiation. We also facilitate creation of startup companies based on Columbia-generated technology.
The majority of Licensing Officers have significant industry experience, which helps ensure successful negotiation and long-term collaborations. We provide an "entryway" into the University for companies seeking new technology solutions, and the Licensing Officers know which faculty have the required expertise a specific company may be seeking.
